Outdoorpainting.com asked our readers…
“What is your favorite instructional art book or video....and
why?”
Here’s what they said…
Richard Schmid won by a slight margin, followed by John
F. Carlson and Emile Gruppe. Others who got more than
one vote were Robert Henri, Trevor Chamberlain and our
own Stefan Baumann!
Many artists appreciate Richard Schmid’s no nonsense
approach to painting. His ability to explain concepts
concisely gave most people what they needed in an instructional
art book. Schmid focuses on practice and drawing as tools
to help achieve painting goals.
