I’d
have to say that my career in art began as a child. One
of my earliest memories is of sitting on the floor at
a playmate’s house with a box of crayons, drawing
horses. Although my mediums and techniques have changed
over the years, my fascination has remained the same.
There was never any question as to what my occupation
would be; the only question was what kind of art I would
pursue. After a fifteen-year career in commercial art
as an Art Director and Illustrator on the East Coast,
I relocated to San Francisco and devoted myself to painting
full-time.
While in San Francisco, I taught painting and drawing
at the Academy of Art University. Since moving to the
beautiful Monterey Peninsula, I paint and teach occasional
private workshops.
Although I will happily paint nearly anything that holds
still long enough, my favorite subjects include the dramatic
coastline and quiet countryside of California; horses
in their natural setting; elegant, traditional florals;
and figures in quiet moments.
